I saw this years ago on VHS, and thought it was brilliant. The low budget and amateurish acting make come off as cheesy, but the subject matter couldn't be any more grim.
Yeah, Troma distributed, but certainly not in line with Troma's typical output. I can vouch that Troma didn't retitle the film, as the original VHS release from Prism had the same title. It's worth noting that Troma's DVD was the first uncut release of the film, and has commentary with director Buddy Giovinazzo and Jorg Buttgereit.
